Centre for Medical Ethics

The Centre for Medical Ethics (CME) works with medical and healthcare ethics in teaching, research and dissemination. This entails everything from concrete ethical dilemmas regarding single patients, to research ethics and theoretical ethics and philosophy.


  • Responsible for ethics teaching of medical and odontological students.
  • Responsible for teaching and supervising the faculty's PhD-fellows regarding research ethics and philosophy of science.
  • Responsible for national coordination and professional development of clinical ethics committees (CEC) in hospitals and community care, as well as long-term development of ethics competence in community care, through evaluating, research, teaching, and building networks.
