Academic interests

My academic trajectory has centered on understanding how immune and vascular mechanisms shape brain function across development, health and disease. My current research focuses on neurovascular and neuroimmune interactions, with particular emphasis on perivascular macrophages, NETosis, vessel-astrocyte crosstalk, brain waste clearance mechanisms, and sleep-dependent vascular dynamics. My work bridges fundamental immunology and translational neuroscience, with relevance to neurovascular disorders such as Alzheimer’s disease and stroke.

Background

I obtained my PhD from Caen University (France), where I investigated the role of tissue-type plasminogen activator (tPA) in innate immunity and characterized T cell responses against N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) receptors in autoimmune encephalitis. I subsequently pursued Postdoctoral research at the BB@C Institute in France, focusing on the long-term neurodevelopmental impact of general anesthesia.
I then joined the University of Oslo as a Postdoctoral Research Associate, working across the GliaLab-Letten Centre (Rune Enger’s group) and the Vascular Pathophysiology Laboratory (Sandip Kanse’s group). My expertise integrates neuroimmunology, vascular biology, and translational neuroscience, with a particular emphasis on neurovascular and neuroimmune mechanisms.

Fellowships

I am the recipient of a Marie Skłodowska-Curie European Postdoctoral Fellowship (Principal Investigator, 2025) and a Nasjonalforeningen for folkehelsen Postdoctoral Fellowship (Principal Investigator, 2024). Previously, I secured competitive regional funding for both my PhD and postdoctoral research projects in France.
