Academic interests

Our research group aim to do high quality research in the field of neuroimmunology, combining molecular biology, proteomics and cellular biology. The main focus is on multiple sclerosis (MS) and the dysregulated immune responses in blood and the cerebrospinal fluid. We have previously used high-throughput sequencing to chart the T- and B-cell receptor repertoires in blood and the cerebrospinal fluid of MS patients in great detail. Current projects are focusing on the pathogenic mechanisms of the B-cell response in the cerebrospinal fluid, and how to explain the perpetuating synthesis of oligoclonal immunoglobulin G, visualized as oligoclonal bands on isoelectric focusing gels.
