The Norwegian Centre for Molecular Biosciences and Medicine (NCMBM) conducts cutting-edge research at the intersection of molecular medicine, biosciences, and data science to advance our understanding of fundamental processes in life sciences.
Through interdisciplinary collaboration and state-of-the-art technologies, we investigate intricate cellular mechanisms driving biological systems in health and disease. As part of the Nordic EMBL Partnership for Molecular Medicine, we closely align with EMBL’s strategy, fostering innovation and impactful discoveries with the life sciences.
Nordic EMBL Partnership
NCMBM is the Norwegian node of the Nordic EMBL Partnership for Molecular Medicine.
The Nordic EMBL Partnership for Molecular Medicine is a unique network of excellent national research centers with complementary research expertise. The centers combine the longstanding tradition of basic and translational molecular medicine in the Nordic countries, with the research infrastructure, core principles and governance and operational models of the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL). The EMBL is Europe’s flagship laboratory for the life sciences, and is one of the world’s leading research institutions.
Collaborations
Through strong national and international partnerships, NCMBM bridges biosciences, biomedical research, and clinical application — fostering scientific excellence, translational impact, and global engagement.
