Large increase in the numbers of applicants
- ‘We're very pleased to announce that we have a large number of students who want to enrol in our programme,’ says a proud course coordinator Tony Sandset. ‘The number of applicants has doubled since last year and we have three times as many applicants as there are study places.

- ‘We've had so many applicants that we've opened up the programme so that more people can apply,’ says Sandset. Students at UiO, students at other universities in Norway and students in the Circle U. alliance can now apply.
Interdisciplinary programme provides useful expertise
The programme consists of two 10-credit courses. To apply, students must be admitted to a master's programme.
- ‘Naturally, we're seeing a wider range of disciplines this year than last year. The students come from medicine, psychology, sociology, public policy and international health.’ ’We've only just started the semester and we're looking forward to getting the group work and discussions underway. From experience, the students have shown very good reflections and great commitment,’ says Sandset.
Who is the honours certificate student?
- ‘Our students are different, but there are two typical characteristics of Honours Certificate students,’ says Sandset. ‘They are curious about and interested in urgent, complex and interdisciplinary challenges - and they are highly committed.
Teachers from different subject areas
The teaching staff for the Honours Certificate in Sustainable Health this spring consists of Christina Brux, Dag O. Hessen, Jan Buts and Tony Sandset. They come from various disciplines such as global health, biology, linguistics and corpus analysis, and medical humanities.
