Hanne Flinstad Harbo elected as new dean at the Faculty of Medicine from 2023

Hanne Flinstad Harbo won the election for the position of dean at the Faculty of Medicine with 53% of the votes. She will be the faculty's first female dean.

Professor Hanne Flinstad Harbo will be the new dean at the Faculty of Medicine from 2023.

The election board at the Faculty of Medicine has now counted the votes from the Dean's election. There was good support for the election. 736 out of 1456 employees with the right to vote have voted (50%). In addition, 577 students (26%) voted.

Hanne Flinstad Harbo received 321 votes from the faculty's staff (44%) and 458 votes from the students (80%). In total, this accounted for 53% of the votes.

Jens Petter Berg received 408 votes from the faculty's staff (56%) and 105 votes from the students (19%). In total, this accounted for 47% of the votes.

Hanne Flinstad Harbo thanks you for the confidence in being elected as the faculty's new dean. She also thanks her team for their good cooperation, everyone who has contributed to the election program and who has participated in the discussions. "I look forward to working with everyone in the future", says a satisfied election winner!

Jens Petter Berg congratulates Hanne Flinstad Harbo on her election. "This is a historic election result, the first female dean at the faculty. Hanne and her team are wished the best of luck with the important work of leading the faculty for the next four years from 2023, he says. "At the same time, I would like to give my thanks for all the support I have received in connection with the election campaign and at the same time apologize to those who cheered for me that my team and I did not succeed in being elected", continues Jens Petter Berg.
