Scientific misconduct

Misconduct is a challenge undermining the value of and trust in science. In order to address the problem, we need knowledge about the extension of various kinds of misconduct, researchers attitudes, and scientists knowledge about the problem.

Misconduct is a challenge undermining the value of and trust in science. In order to address the problem, we need knowledge about the extension of various kinds of misconduct, researchers attitudes, and scientists knowledge about the problem.

Objectives

  • To investigate the knowledge, attitudes, and practices with respect to specific types of scientific misconduct of scientific researchers in Norway, Scandinavia, and internationally.
  • To contribute to the methodology of gaining knowledge on scientific misconduct.
  • To contribute to improving research integrity.

Methods

Surveys to PhD-candidates and experienced researchers.

    Financing

    The project is financed by the ordinary budget of CME and extra funding for practical purposes (sending surveys).
