Department of Administration and Support Services

The administrative department provides comprehensive administrative and technical support to the Institute. 

Led by Head of administration Hela Soltani, the department comprises five sections with a total of 50 employees.

  • The Finance section handles financial support, control functions, and research administration.
  • The Section for human resources (HR) and Health, safety and the environment (HSE) supports leadership, staff, and the organisation.
  • The Section for education management and administrative services delivers a broad range of services, including procurement and invoicing.
  • The Section for internal services houses the local IT unit, mechanical and electronics workshops, and photo and graphics services. It also assists the UiO Estate Department with local building projects.
  • The Department of comparative medicine operates the Institute's animal research facility.
