Department of Mental Health
The department is responsible for teaching and research within psychiatry at Campus Ahus. Through joint appointments, we work closely with the Division of Mental Health at Ahus.
Our teaching spans the full range of psychiatric disciplines, including child and adolescent psychiatry, adult psychiatry, old-age psychiatry, and forensic psychiatry.
We contribute to undergraduate medical education through lectures and clinical small-group teaching, and we also offer doctoral training through the Faculty of Medicine’s PhD programme.
Our research examines how mental and physical health influence one another across different populations and stages of life. By identifying the mechanisms underlying these interactions, we aim to develop more effective approaches to preventing and treating psychiatric disorders and, ultimately, improving mental health outcomes.
To achieve the above goals, we collaborate with a broad range of national and international partners.
