Signe Søvik is a senior consultant anesthesiologist chiefly doing pediatric anesthesia and intensive care medicine at the Department of Anesthesia and Intensive Care at Akershus University Hospital, Norway. Her PhD work was in human neonatal cardiorespiratory control.

Currently, Signe holds a position as professor at Institute of Clinical Medicine, University of Oslo. She collaborates closely with researchers at the Department of Infectious Diseases and the Department of Cardiology at AHUS, Research group for studies of human cardiovascular control (CIRCON) at Institute for Basic Medical Sciences, Oslo Centre for Biostatistics and Epidemiology (OCBE), and Department of Emergencies and Critical Care, Oslo University Hospital.

Signe does basic and clinical research in acute respiratory and cardiovascular physiology, evaluates emergency medical care, and develops statistical models of complex medical systems. She is deeply involved in medical teaching, especially with simulation as method.
