Signe Søvik is a senior consultant anesthesiologist chiefly doing pediatric anesthesia at the Department of Anesthesia and Intensive Care at Akershus University Hospital, Norway. Her PhD work was in human neonatal cardiorespiratory control; currently she holds a position as associate professor at the Institute of Clinical Medicine, University of Oslo. Signe does basic and clinical research in acute respiratory and cardiovascular physiology, evaluates emergency medical care, and develops statistical models of survival after trauma. She is deeply involved in medical teaching, especially with simulation as method.
