Romania-Norway grant awarded to CanCell research

The grant application "Understanding Membrane Dynamics and their Implications for Cancer with Correlative Optical Nanoscopy and Artificial Intelligence" (MEDYCONAI), with Stefan Stanciu at the University of Bucharest as coordinator  and Harald Stenmark at CanCell as project partner has been awarded support from the Romania-Norway EEA research programme.

In this project, the researchers will utilize nanoscopy in combination with artificial intelligence to image membrane cancer-relevant membrane dynamics processes such as cell division, macropinocytosis, autophagy, and cell division. The project is due to start in the Autumn of 2020 and last until April 2024. The awarded amount is 1.164.000 EUR of which the Norwegian share is 436.500 EUR.

This is the second EEA project from CanCell researchers, as CanCell senior scientist Antoni Wiedlocha was recently awarded a Poland-Norway grant as project partner.
