Audun Kvalvaag’s project is about analyzing the activation of patient derived tumor infiltrating T cells ex vivo to understand why some cancer patients respond well to checkpoint immunotherapy while others do not respond. He will also investigate how the cis interactome – lateral protein-protein interactions in the plane of the plasma membrane – affects immunotherapy response. This might lead to development of novel treatments targeting such interactions.
