Natalia Smirnova has joined the Hybrid Technology Hub – Centre for Organ on a Chip Technology – as a Doctoral Research Fellow

Mathias Busek and Aleksandra Aizenshtadt with HTH collaborators has published a new article in Lab on a Chip. The article describes a novel, scalable, and easy-to-use rOoC platform, that not only creates a directed flow without the need for pumps and tubing but also allows the implementation of biological complexity on-chip.

Christine Olsen and HTH collaborators have published a new article in Journal of Chromatography B. The article describes a sensitive RPLC-MS/MS method for the determination of intact insulin in low microliter-scale samples from islets organoids.

Stian Kogler and HTH collaborators have published a new article in Analytical Chemistry. The article is a proof-of-concept study on the direct coupling of an organ-on-a-chip-like device with liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry.

The European Innovation Council Pathfinder Challenges program funds the international research consortium “Supervised Morphogenesis in Gastruloids” - SUMO

The project entitled “TumorChip - development of a tumor-on-a-chip platform for testing WNT signaling inhibition as an enabling factor in melanoma immune oncology” received 8 mio NOK. The funding will be used to establish a tumor-on-a-chip platform for personalized drug testing at HTH.

The Hybrid Technology Hub is a partner in the Research School for Training the Next Generation of Micro- and Nanotechnology Researchers in Norway (TNNN). The research school is coordinated by NTNU.

HTH researcher Aleksandra Aizenshtadt receives 50 000 NOK from The UiO Life Science Growth House in their first call for innovative researchers. Therese Bang received 10 000 NOK for her student project.

HTH researchers held workshops in 3D bioprinting of cell-laden scaffolds, generation of stem cell derived organoids models and engineering of organ-on-a-chip platforms. Hanne Scholz chaired a session on "Enabling technologies for beta cell transplantation" and Stefan Krauss gave an introduction to metabolism on chip.

New article in Cancer Research Communications from S. Alam Brinch, A. Aizenshtadt, P. A. Olsen, Stefan Krauss and Jo Waaler. The article demonstrates the effectiveness and therapeutic window for a novel tankyrase inhibitor in mouse tumor models.

Through the initiative #scienceforukraine Espen Melum has invited Ukrainian researchers to work in his lab.

Shadab Abadpour with Aleksandra Aizenshtadt, Mathias Busek, Chencheng Wang, Steven Ray Haakon Wilson, Stefan Krauss, and Hanne Scholz is one of five new teams admitted to UiO's innovation programme SPARK Norway with the project: Metabolism-on-chip

The project is entitled “Unleashing the full antitumor potential of macrophages for next-generation cancer immunotherapy”and a central part of this project will be to establish and use tumor on-a-chip technology at HTH.
