Norwegian Neuroinformatics Node

The Norwegian Neuroinformatics Node is a node of the International Neuroinformatic Coordinating Facility.

Aims

The primary aims of the Norwegian Neuroinformatics Node is to introduce new opportunities for researchers in Norway for sharing and re-using experimental neuroscience data, using advanced tools for data analysis, and computational modeling of the brain.

About

The node belongs to the International Neuroinformatic Coordinating Facility, INCF, an international organization promoting global neuroinformatics through a network of national nodes with the objective of advancing international awareness of the field, advance data re-use and reproducibility through development of standards, best practices and infrastructure developments, and by catalyzing community-driven collaborative brain research projects.

The Norwegian Node has established tools and infrastructure for digital brain atlasing, sharing, re-use and integration of image data through the use of atlases, and advanced computational modeling.

The Node offers

  • access to tools for data visualization and analysis, and computational modeling
  • services for collaborative research projects, as a vehicle to increase uptake and further user-driven development of neuroinformatics tools and infrastructures 
  • education and training in neuroinformatics in collaboration with the Norwegian Research School in Neuroscience
  • links to infrastructures for dementia disease research
