I work at the Centre for Precision Psychiatry and Bioinformatics in Life Science at the University of Oslo. My research combines statistical genetics, computational biology and machine learning to understand how genetic variation contributes to complex traits and disease, with a particular focus on psychiatric and neurodegenerative disorders.
I am interested in how genetic influences are shared across diseases and how they act through gene regulation, molecular pathways and different cell types. I develop statistical methods, including tools in the MiXeR family, to study genetic architecture and connect genetic discoveries with biological understanding.
I also combine genetics, brain imaging and clinical information to study dementia, including Alzheimer’s disease. My interests include molecular biomarkers and models of disease risk and progression, with the aim of supporting earlier diagnosis and more personalised care. I develop open-source software to make these methods accessible and support reproducible research.
