Background
I have a MD degree from NTNU (2007) and PhD from UiO (2015).
My research interest is on the effect of different diagnostic and therapeutic interventions in the health service. Many of the projects concern colorectal cancer screening and surveillance of patients after removal of adenomas from the large intestine. I am also interested in developing and to evaluate the effectiveness of new medical devices. In general, I am interested in practical application of scientific methodology and the use of randomized controlled studies to develop observational study designs. In 2013-14 I was a Fulbright scholar at Harvard School of Public Health in Boston, USA.
Since 2015, I have been teaching at the University of Oslo, both bachelor- og masters programs in health leadership and health economics, and on the medical school. From 2016 to 2019 I was leader of education within knowledge management, leadership and quality improvement at the medical school, and from 2018 I have been the head of education at the Institute of Health and Society.
I have been leading and participated in several projects related to revision and establishing of new study programs, such as the bachelor program in health leadership and health economics at UiO, decentralized medical education at UiO (Campus sør), and the program for health leadership at he University of Bergen.
I have experience from numerous councils related to education and research, and have been elected member to the board at the Medical Faculty at UiO and substitute member to the university board. Since 2021 I have been leading the council that evaluate implementation of new clinical methods and equipment at Oslo University Hospital.
