Shuo-Wang Qiao

Jeg er utdannet cand. med. og dr. med. fra Universitetet i Oslo. I tillegg har jeg en cand. mag. grad i matematikk. Jeg har jobbet ved Immunologisk institutt, Rikshospitalet siden 2001 foruten et to-årlig post doc i USA.
Mine faglige interesser
Under doktorgraden jobbet jeg med identifisering og karakterisering av T-celleepitoper i gluten som har betydning for cøliakiutvikling. Under post doc oppholdet undersøkte jeg betydning av neonatal Fc reseptor (FcRn) i antigenpresentasjon, spesielt antigen som er bundet til antistoffer i store komplekser. I de siste ti årene har jeg jobbet molekylært, med analyse av T-cellereseptorer og hel transkriptom på enkeltcelle-nivå. Disse analysene utføres på både gluten-spesifikke T-celler som driver cøliakiutvikling og andre immunceller som driver kroniske inflammatoriske sykdommer. Jeg har vært gruppeleder i Centre for Immune Regulation (CIR) som var et SFF i perioden 2007-2017. Siden 2016 har jeg vært gruppeleder i K. G. Jebsen senter for cøliakiforskning. Ved siden av forskning av human immunologi, jobber jeg i et samarbeidsprosjekt finansiert av konvergensmidler fra UiO: Livsvitenskap med å kartlegge det særegne immunsystemet hos torsk.
