This years Throne Holst Symposium will be focused around the departments academic area of focus "Healthy ageing". There will also be presentations of new papers and posters by the young scientists. The paper, poster and communication awards will be announced at the end of the symposium.

The Oslo Centre for Biostatistics and Epidemiology is hosting the Nordic-Baltic Biometric Conference (NBBC) in 2025.

This years Throne Holst Symposium will be in honour of Professor Asim Duttaroy who turns 70 years. There will also be presentations of new papers and posters by the young scientists. The paper, poster and communication awards will be announced in the evening.

Helga Refsum obtained her MD and PhD degrees from the University of Bergen, where she also became a Professor of Pharmacology in 1992. Since 2004, she has been a Professor at the Department of Nutrition at the University of Oslo and a Visiting Professor at University of Oxford. She is a world-renowned researcher on homocysteine, B vitamins, cysteine, and their roles in cardiovascular disease, dementia, and obesity.

To celebrate Professor Refsum’s 60th birthday and her outstanding contributions to science, we welcome you to a symposium with presentations on Helga’s current and past research topics.

The European Causal Inference Meeting 2023 will take place on April 19th-21st in Oslo.

Oslo Epigenetics Symposium 2022 presents cutting-edge epigenetic research from top national and international researchers

Svein Olav Kolset was educated as a Nutritionist at the School of Nutrition, the University of Oslo. He has since then been a staff scientist and later Professor at the Department of Nutrition. Svein Olav has for decades been a leading international expert on nutrition and glycobiology. In honor of Professor Kolset's 70th birthday, we invite you to a symposium with talks reflecting Svein Olav's  present and former research activities.

The Throne Holst paper- and twitter awards will be arranged October 15th at 2.00-4.00 PM.

In connection with Ray Dingledine’s inauguration as elected member of The Norwegian Academy of Science and Letters (DNVA), we organize a seminar at which Ray will give two presentations, as introductions to informal discussions.

Open to all researchers, clinicians, industry representatives, patient groups and others with an interest in stem cell biology, research and applications.

Odd O. Aalen's contributions in fundamental concepts, methods, theories and instruments to modern statistical science during his long career are highly valued. He has been a key person in establishing biostatistics as a strong research field in Norway. On the occasion of his 70th birthday, colleagues, friends, collaborators, supporters and admirers wish to celebrate Odd with a symposium in his honour. The symposium will take place on the 11th and 12th of October, 2017, at the University of Oslo.

The talks will cover current topics in survival analysis, causal inference and infectious disease modelling.

It is 50 years since the first scientific articles about the lack of LCAT was published. The symposium will discuss the importance of what lecitihin-cholesterol acyltransferase (LCAT) means for the transport of cholesterol in the organism, and it will take place at the hospital where the hereditary disease LCAT deficiency was first discovered.
