Services

We offer a series of services related to structural biology.

We can assist with expression and purification of recombinant proteins, protein crystal screening, structure determination of proteins and protein complexes by X-ray crystallography and BioSAXS, as well as structural modeling of proteins and protein interactions.

We have a large array of instruments for characterization of proteins and protein interactions, including microscale thermophoresis (MST), isothermal calorimetry (ITC) and surface plasmon resonance (SPR, from fall 2016).

The facility can also assist users with bioinformatics analyses, with emphasis on interpretation of clinical data with basis in protein structures and protein interactions.

We can also offer virtual screening of large compound libraries for targets in drug design projects.

We serve all users associated to institutions belonging to Helse Sør-Øst, as well as research groups at external research institutions in the region, including e.g. UiO, NMBU and university colleges. We can also provide selected services to industrial partners.

Location

The Structural Biology Core Facility is located at the Department of Medical Biochemistry, Oslo University Hospital - Rikshospitalet.
