Division of Biochemistry
The Division of Biochemistry teaches medical biochemistry and cell biology, and drives research projects within these areas.

Teaching at the division
The Division of Biochemistry is responsible for teaching students in medicine, nutrition and dentistry. Topics include carbohydrate metabolism, cell cycle regulation, signal transduction, gene regulation, carcinogenesis and nutrition, and enzyme kinetics. Staff in the division is also involved in the research education of PhD students.
Research at the division
The division's research focuses on basic processes of normal cellular metabolism and mechanisms of disease development. The division is home to the Norwegian Center for Stem Cell Research. Research groups have wide national and international collaborative networks, with Oslo University Hospital as key strategic partner.
